An exhibition inspired by the synthetic flower arrangements that adorn gravestones across Montenegro.
The Life of Dead Flowers invites reflection on memory, mourning, and the afterlives of objects: on what fades, what endures, and how material culture carries the traces of human loss.
The flowers were found in small cracks in the ground between gravesites. They were faded and frayed, lying there, almost invisible, wilting from flowers into discarded polyester scraps. Upon rediscovery, they rise, gently drifting, levitating and returning to the air.
